Top 10 things I didn’t miss about having a PC

I’ve been in this job about 3 weeks now, and am still waiting for my shiny new Mac to arrive. In the meantime I have to make do with a clunky piece of shit Dell. Apparently the one I have is currently top of the Dell range, in which case it’s no wonder Mike Dell felt the need to step up and take charge again. Seriously – it’s shit. It looks and feels like it came out of the same factory where they make Happy Meal toys.

I’ve often observed that saying a Mac is better than a PC is like saying a hammer is better than a screwdriver, and I really do believe that. You have to use the right tool for the job, and there are certain (e.g. programming-related) tasks that you’d be fucking nuts to attempt with a Mac. However, for the past 3 years the right tool for my needs has been (and continues to be) a Mac. So for those of you who haven’t been back here in PC-land for a while, or for the rest of you who have been here so long you barely notice the many inconvenient features bundled with Windows applications, let’s get the ball rolling:

    Simple solutions: Don’t use MSN, it’s lame.
    Turn the desktop alerts off.

    Dang, hard huh?
